In Memory of Sara L. Bauer

It is with a deep and fearful sadness that I share with you that I have lost my partner in love and labor for some twenty two years. Sara passed swiftly in peace in the home she so loved on Wednesday morning, June the 4th at 11:05 after a six year journey with cancer. Sara showed her amazing strength through pain and passion to her very last day.

I am committed to furthering her legacy and reach around the world in her passion and love for the arts, especially in the fiber community. To that end, I will establish a private non-profit foundation in her memory and honor.

The foundation will serve to educate, encourage, and support through knit events, gallery shows, scholarships, residencies, up-cycling, clothing and the caring for her beloved Yin Hoo Tea House Gardens. Even though our lights seem to have darkened, she will shine on in the way she loved everyone and everything she touched.
